Little Free Library – NW Indiana

Little Free Library in Northwest Indiana
Northwest Indiana Literacy Coalition and Lakeshore Public Media are working with residents, community leaders and local organizations to bring 100 Little Free Libraries to neighborhoods across Northwest Indiana. Our plan is to couple individuals and communities with local partnerships to leverage resources such as:
  • Sponsorship – registry, stewardship;
  • Construction – time, materials;
  • Books.
Light the benefits of reading afire by joining our Little Free Library Initiative. Bring your community together through the curiosity sparked by Little Free Libraries. This is a small way to make a big impact.
You can work alongside local artists or designers to plan, design, build, and sustain Little Free Libraries thereby creating new outlets for accessing books that reflect the personality of individual neighborhoods and communities.
Little Free Library introduced “Literacy Friendly Neighborhoods”, a new program aimed at empowering neighbors to create strategies that help everyone read better in their very own neighborhood. Communities who have committed to working together to ensure literacy in their neighborhoods will be certified, “A Literacy Friendly Neighborhood.”
